This Privacy Policy explains how Built By The Trades ("we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares information when you visit builtbythetrades.com, submit a form or use the Revenue Calculator. Our software products may have their own privacy terms, which apply when you use those products.
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to submit, including:
- Demo requests and contact forms: your name, company, email address, phone number, trade and the details or message you include.
- Revenue Calculator: the answers you enter (annual revenue, trade, team size, how often you review pricing and how you track time and materials) and, when you request your results, your name, company, email address and phone number. The estimate generated from your answers is sent along with your request.
- Text messaging consent: whether you agreed to receive text messages, when you check that box on a form.
Information collected automatically
When you use the website, we and our service providers collect:
- device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page and approximate location;
- analytics data through Google Tag Manager, the tags it loads and Matomo, and, where you allow marketing storage, advertising and measurement tags;
- security signals from Google reCAPTCHA, which helps protect our forms from spam and abuse.
The website also stores a few items in your browser: your cookie choices, and, for up to 24 hours, your in-progress Revenue Calculator answers so you can pick up where you left off. Your calculator results are stored in your browser so the results page can display them.
How we use information
- to respond to demo requests and questions, and to follow up about our products;
- to prepare and deliver your Revenue Calculator results;
- to send text messages you have agreed to receive;
- to understand how the website is used and improve it;
- to protect the website and our forms from fraud, spam and abuse;

How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and our business, such as our website and form processing provider, our customer relationship management (CRM) and form tools, analytics providers, Google reCAPTCHA, and hosting and security providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you provide a mobile number and check an SMS consent box, you agree to receive text messages related to your inquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Mobile numbers and SMS consent are not shared with, sold or rented to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. They are disclosed only to the messaging providers that deliver the texts on our behalf.
