Case study · Garage door repair and installation
A 22-truck garage door company stopped losing the Google reviews it earned.

Before
Great work in the driveway, almost none of it on Google
Door Serv Pro's techs were doing good work, and customers said so to their faces in the driveway. Almost none of it ended up on Google. The ask went out as a text after the job, and like most shops they got a review back on about one job in seven. Customers said they would and didn't.
That was never on the techs or the customers. By the time a text shows up that evening, the homeowner's moved on with their day.
The fix
What changed: they ask before the truck pulls out
They moved the ask to the moment the job's done. The tech pulls up a QR code, the customer scans it with their own phone and writes the review right there, usually in under a minute. Nobody at the office sends a follow-up text, and nobody chases anyone. Each review is tied to the tech who did the work, so the shop can see who's earning them.
The first review came in on day one.
"Shane and Gage were amazing! Diagnosed the issues and were able to get my doors working perfectly. Highly recommend!"

The numbers
Month to month, better than eight in 10 customers who get the ask in person leave the review. The usual text after the job gets one 14 to 18 percent of the time.

How they got to 93% in August
In August the shop turned it into a contest. Techs earned points for every review posted on Google the same day, with extra points for photos and video, and the top three split $2,500 through payroll. Ties were going to be settled by a barefoot race through the shop.
They had 14 techs in it. That month, 173 of the 186 customers they asked posted a review. Photos and video scored extra, and you can see it on their Google profile.
